Dr. Arthur Kapit, DDS, MScD

Dr. Arthur L. Kapit received his dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia and his Master's degree in orthodontics from Boston University. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, the only orthodontic specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. Besides private practice he is an adjunct professor in the postgraduate department of orthodontics at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Kapit believes that all patients should be treated by the orthodontist. He places all orthodontic braces and cements all bands. He sees each and every patient on each and every appointment. Since you are paying for his services you should get them. The assistants also work on patients, but it is limited to those procedures that are under his supervision and at his direction. They never cement bands or brackets. There is a difference in the quality of care from one health care provider to another. Diagnosis is the cornerstone for good treatment. Without knowing what the problem is there is no way to improve it. At the consultation appointment it will become evident how much time is spent to analyze the diagnostic information. Once the problem is analyzed the treatment can then be started. In the end what all of us strive for is an esthetic, healthy, and stable result.

Dr. Kapit also does adult orthodontics and can help with some TMJ problems. Invisible braces are available for selective problems. It is important to have good communication between the dentist and the orthodontist.
