At Kapit Orthodontics, we can do our best for your children if we see them by age seven as we are able to evaluate their growth and development at an age where they are exchanging their baby teeth for the permanent teeth. Only a small percentage of children need treatment at this young age, but early evaluation and monitoring can prevent developing problems. Sometimes treatment is begun early when growth guidance is necessary. Early treatment can also regulate the width of the upper dental arch, gain space for permanent teeth, avoid the need for permanent tooth extractions, reduce likelihood of impacted permanent teeth, correct thumb-sucking, and eliminate abnormal swallowing or speech problems. In other words, early treatment can simplify later treatment.
